The blades of grass surround the child, bending gently in the wind. The Gaia hypothesis describes Earth as a self-regulating living system, where all parts; plants, animals, and humans, interact and work together to sustain a greater balance. In this moment, the child becomes part of the environment, just like the grass and the wind that blows through. The wind, lifting the child’s hair, also plays a role in Earth’s self-regulating nature. The wind showed me the deep connection between the child and nature, symbolizing how humans can live in balance with the Earth, just as Gaia envisions.
