Fusion of ground and sea.
Stones have a primitive power. It is not purification or divinity, but a force of nature that is overwhelming when you see it in front of you. Billions of years ago, it overflowed from the earth’s crust, and from there it has retained its history until now. Date capstone also holds the history of the sea. The unique look of date capstone was created when it was immersed in the ocean 20 million years ago, and the salt rusted the iron contained in the stone. This was the inspiration for the idea.
Salt, which transformed lava into date cap stone, also has primitive power. The oceans, which cover 70% of the earth, have a history as long as that of the ground. It is a primordial place for people, where life has been born, died, and changed, giving birth to various histories. And salt has become a primitive material indispensable to life. I have created a material that fuses two such materials that feel “primitive” to mankind. This material is born as a new material that represents the history of the earth by combining “earth” and “sea,” materials with two different histories into one.
