Leaves stretching across the boughs of the tree
I stood as my feet dug into the ground.
Slowly imprinting into the earth.

My spine tightens up and inserts itself into the core.
Sometimes I feel, nothing holds time like an old, old tree.
I want to braid myself into the ground.
Hold me! Find me where the wild things grow.
