Minami means beautiful wave. The reason I brought this painting is because it showed me a possibility about the interconnectedness of nature. I wanted to paint the ocean and waves, but instead of the ocean or the river itself, I looked at rose petals and saw the beauty of the waves that I felt. When my perception of the rippling ocean and the petals of flowers became the same, I felt that there were different dimensions of beauty in nature. When you look at nature as a perception, rather than just visible nature, I think it gives you an opportunity to think about what the connection between all living things means.
